Sehr geehrter Herr Doktor!

ergebener

-------------------------------------

Dear Doctor,

At long last I am in a position to hand over to you the letter of agreement concerning the Beethoven Sonatas.1 I ask you to return the same to me signed, after which you will receive the stipulated sum of money promptly.

I am bushed through over-work to such an extent that I must take it easy for the next few days. For this reason, I have held off from getting in contact with Dr. Harpner,2 and from tackling the matter of the Musicians' Organization.3 Since indeed all the interested parties are away, the present preparatory work is pointless and I shall take the matter up assiduously in the autumn.

Please excuse my brevity today; but there are still some forty important written documents for me to take care of, and I must be ready by tomorrow.

With cordial greetings,
With kindest regards,
Yours truly,
[signed:] Hertzka
