Sehr geehrter Herr,

Dear Sir,

Although the lexicographical form is ever so original, this is unfortunately not suitable for Die Zukunft. I beg you earnestly not to take it amiss.

If Rosenthal1 does not want the large and important readership of Die Zukunft--which is widely reprinted--well and good. But he has imposed on you unconscionably.

I gave Gelber2 sincere greetings for you. Now, please, you send greetings to him; perhaps he can recommend someone to me--Adler,3 for instance--on social relations in Austria.

Sincerest wishes for the holiday.4

Yours,
[signed:] Harden

SUMMARY:
Harden rejects one of Schenker's submissions; he is resigned to Rosenthal's refusal to publish in Die Zukunft, but tells Schenker that Rosenthal has maligned him; he asks Schenker to greet [Adolph?] Gelber and request a referral to someone, perhaps Viktor Adler, who would write about Austrian social relations for Die Zukunft.
