Handwritten letter from Rosenthal to Schenker, December 14, 1902

Verehrter Freund!

Handwritten letter from Rosenthal to Schenker, December 14, 1902

Dear friend,

You have clearly been misinformed in the matter of Miss Neumann.1 It is not the fiancée of your friend Posa2 who wrote to you, but her sister, who would very much have liked to study with you, but was afraid of reviving an old memory in her sister through your appearance on the scene. Hence her wish to take lessons with you. So you can see that the matter, while not an everyday occurrence, is certainly not all that remarkable.

I am in Vienna on the 19th and 20th, and then travel to Marseilles, Lyons, Bordeaux, etc. I shall of course be delighted to see you, if you can make that work.

With very kind regards and best wishes,
Yours truly,
[signed:] Moriz Rosenthal
