Adler, Victor

Victor Adler (born Prague, June 24, 1852; died Vienna, Nov 11, 1918), Austrian Social Democrat politician, founder of the socialist movement in Austria, creator of the Arbeiter-Zeitung in 1889. In 1918, he was Secretary of state for Foreign Affairs in the interim government of Karl Renner, at which time he advocated unification with Germany.
